Planet Innovation’s program to partner, develop and incubate innovative products has been recognized by the Australian Financial Review with four innovation awards including Australia’s Most Innovative Company.
In front of a packed awards ceremony in Sydney, PI has again been voted Australia’s Most Innovative Company for the third time in four years. Over 1,000 companies entered this year’s competition, run by Inventium, and in addition to taking out the top honor, Planet Innovation also won Best Innovation Culture, Best Innovation Program and Most Consistently Innovative Company. PI’s innovation program includes specialized innovation training for all staff and dedicated funding that ensures all staff have the opportunity to contribute to both commercial and technical ventures.
Stuart Elliott, Planet Innovation CEO, said on the night: “When you hire the best people, immerse them in an inspirational work environment and then aim them at problems the world wants solved, great things happen. Zen HQ and Nplex are examples of two products we have launched ourselves, which address energy efficiency for multi-site businesses and point-of-care diagnostic testing respectively. More and more however, Planet Innovation is forming partnerships with leading and emerging companies to help them develop a future product roadmap that may extend beyond their current industry. In addition to the technology piece PI also brings strong commercial strategies to help fund and commercialize ideas. By collaborating with Planet Innovation, our partners are accessing thinking, capabilities and technologies they cannot achieve on their own.”
This is the fifth year that the Australia’s Most Innovative Company list has been published by Fairfax Media and Planet Innovation has never finished outside the top 10; placing 1st in 2016, 1st in 2015, 3rd in 2014, 1st in 2013 and 8th in 2012.
