Fast Company, a leading publisher in technology, business, and design, has recognized Zen Ecosystems, a Planet Innovation business, as one of its Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Energy for 2018. The annual ranking honors the businesses that are transforming how we produce, use and manage energy through innovative products and practices.
Zen Ecosystems secured the number nine spot on Fast Company’s Energy list for its Zen HQ and Zen Thermostat offerings — intelligent energy management systems for commercial and residential customers. The company sets itself apart from competitors with devices that are simple to use, require little oversight and offer a quick return on investment.
Beyond the company’s energy-saving systems, Zen Ecosystems was recognized for driving a culture of partnership within the energy management space. In 2017, Zen Ecosystems integrated Encycle’s bio-mimicry inspired Swarm Logic system into Zen HQ, allowing commercial HVAC units to communicate with one another to autonomously meet energy needs and reduce costly peak-demand charges. The company also partnered with Swell Energy to create a first-of-its-kind energy management and storage package for residential homes. These collaborations offer customers even deeper energy and cost savings.
“We’re honored to receive this prestigious award from Fast Company, and to be ranked alongside other innovators working to make our energy systems more sustainable,” said Zen Ecosystems CEO, James McPhail. “We continue to pursue our goal of providing simple and effective intelligent energy management systems to our expanding consumer and business markets.”
The full ranking is available at www.fastcompany.com/MIC and will be included in Fast Company’s March issue, on newsstands February 27.
