Planet Innovation again named Australia’s Most Innovative Company

Planet Innovation has been named Australia’s Most Innovative Company for the second time in three years by Fairfax’s BRW*, Australia’s premier business publisher.

Over 500 of Australia’s top companies competed to win the honour of the BRW No.1 Most Innovative Company in 2015, which was judged after a rigorous assessment of each company’s culture, strategy and track record in delivering innovations that create value.

Planet Innovation also took out the top honor in 2013 and has been the only company to finish inside the top 10 every year since the list was introduced in 2012 by BRW and Inventium.

Planet Innovation’s managing director, Stuart Elliott, explains that people are a key ingredient to an innovative culture: “We spend enormous effort recruiting entrepreneurial thinkers at Planet Innovation. We look specifically for people with deep technical expertise coupled with broad commercial acumen. Once on board we mentor our staff to seek diverse experience, share their challenges and champion their ideas.”

Planet Innovation develops new and breakthrough products for its clients as well as developing its own range of hi-tech products. Our innovation program is built around continually developing ‘innovation muscle’ that is flexible enough to be applied to any problem but rigorous enough to deliver a high level of predictability in the development of practical business solutions.

In 2015 Planet Innovation assisted Blamey Saunders in the development of Incus as part of Blamey Saunders’ award winning IHearYou® hearing aid system. Incus is a pocket-sized device that uses Bluetooth and your smartphone to enable you to readjust your hearing aids to comfortable levels for any environment – from a concert, to a family dinner or a trip to the library. Planet Innovation also helped Sapien Technology develop a digital diary system for farmers that may revolutionize the way the Australian agricultural industry records mandatory work events.

The BRW Most Innovative Companies Awards were announced at a gala event in Sydney on August 17th in front of a packed ballroom at the Ivy.
