Evident’s SLIDEVIEW™ DX VS-M1, with Z-stack and new Scan-Methods, has won the Design and Usability award in the International Scanner Benchmark 2025 held by EMPAIA International.
In 2023, Planet Innovation and Evident announced a partnership to develop and manufacture innovative digital workflow solutions for life science markets. The SLIDEVIEW™ DX VS-M1 is a result of that partnership.
EMPAIA International invited all slide scanner manufacturers to participate in the International Scanner Benchmark 2025. This unique benchmarking opportunity took place during ECDP 2025 in Barcelona and offered a neutral, structured framework for manufacturers to evaluate their scanners. The focus was on positive development, detailed feedback, and industry visibility.
During the vigorous deliberation, the winner is determined through a comprehensive jury evaluation process. Each jury member independently assessed every participating scanner by completing a detailed questionnaire and through hands-on demonstrations at vendor booths during the industry exhibition, where vendor employees showcased the scanners and answered questions.
EMPAIA announced the winners of the International Scanner awards at the 37th European Congress of Pathology, in Vienna. Organized by the European Society of Pathology (ESP) and the Austrian Society for Clinical Pathology and Molecular Pathology (ÖGPath), it is the world’s largest pathology congress, attracting over 5,000 international professionals. The theme for 2025 was “ECP Vienna – Tradition Meets Future,” focusing on advancements in diagnostics, therapy, and the integration of modern technologies like digital pathology and AI.
