Event: The Future Direction of IVDs at AusMedtech 2013

The future direction of IVDs will be discussed, debated and dissected by an eminent panel of experts at AusMedtech 2013 in Melbourne on Wednesday May 15. The panel discussion will be kicked off by Peter Harman, the CEO of IVD Australia, and regarded as one of Australia’s leading authorities on the IVD industry. Peter brings a global perspective to the IVD market and will present the latest information on market growth, regulatory developments and technology trends.

Dr Ian Macfarlane, Managing Director of PI Design, will then share his real-world experience on the ingredients to success for both start-up and established IVD companies. Ian has a wealth of knowledge gained from the development and global commercialization of 23 IVD and Life Science products.

Professor Mathew Cooper, a scientific entrepreneur from the University of Queensland, will close out the panel as he shares his rich insights into the innovation, industry engagement and generation of intellectual property that leads to successful products and companies.

The panel will be moderated by Dr Stuart Hazell, Managing Director and Principal Consultant of Fusidium Pty Ltd. Having held CEO and Chairman roles during his 35 years in the IVD industry, Stuart will ensure that the audience and online followers will leave the session with practical information on how to navigate the future direction of IVDs stretching from point-of-care to the lab.
